Digital breadcrumbs: case studies of online research
The authors address the question: who has a stake in the way university scholars do research in online spaces. They examine the ways in which researchers use online resources for scholarly projects, and consider the value of researchers' existing practices. The authors find that for the participant-researchers in this study: multiple online resources are used together in unadvertised, collaborative ways; and 'unstructured' online research can be inventional.
