Women and Politics in South Australia
This website celebrates the role of women in the social and political development of South Australia. South Australia was one of the first places in the world to give women the vote in 1894, and was the first in the world to enable women to enter Parliament. The State Library of South Australia has established this resource with the support of the Women's Suffrage Centenary Committee. The website is based on the resources held in the The Mortlock Library of South Australiana and provides a glimpse of some of the unique documents in it's rich heritage collections.
